What Equipment Do I Need for Air Fryer Wings?
An air fryer is all you need to make these savory, spicy wings! We recommend using a large air fryer that can hold more wings. I used the Gourmia 8 qt digital air fryer. If you are working with a smaller air fryer you can split the wings into batches. Using a disposable air fryer liner is a great way to avoid making a mess in your basket. Other equipment you will need: A knife, cutting board, measuring cups and spoons, and mixing bowls.
How to Make Air Fryer Chicken Wings

- Fill the air fryer basket with wings and cook until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
- Combine the butter, honey, and buffalo sauce in a large bowl.
- Add the cooked wings to the bowl and stir to combine.
- Serve and enjoy!
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I finish cooking these wings in the air fryer with the sauce on them?
Yes! It helps the sauce stick to the wings and is a great way to cut down on the mess. You can do this by cooking the wings for about 10 – 12 minutes, tossing them in the sauce and butter, and putting them back in the air fryer for an additional 8 minutes.
Can I marinate the wings overnight?
Of course! You can marinate the wings overnight for that extra burst of flavor, but they won’t be as crispy. As the wings marinate, the chicken absorbs more and more moisture, which prevents them from crisping up in the air fryer.
How long should I thaw frozen wings before cooking them in my air fryer?
You don’t have to thaw frozen wings before cooking them in my air fryer. I usually place my frozen wings in my air fryer at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes. I then season them and coat them with oil before air frying them until they are fully cooked.
How to Store Leftover Chicken Wings
Store your leftover wings in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can reheat your leftovers in the microwave or the air fryer until warm.
Alternatively, you can store this appetizer in the freezer for up to 2 months in a large Ziploc Bag. Frozen wings should be reheated in the air fryer for 10 minutes at 400°F.

Notes
Equipment I need:
Air fryer: I used the Gourmia 8 qt digital air fryer.
If you are working with a smaller air fryer you can split the wings into batches. Using a disposable air fryer liner is a great way to avoid making a mess in your basket.
Chicken wings: To get that crispy skin, be sure to place the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. To get the best results, avoid stacking the wings so they can cook evenly. You may need to cook them in several batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
Onion and Garlic powder: This combination of ingredients has become a favorite of mine. It gives the chicken the best flavor!
Cajun seasoning (or paprika): My go-to Cajun seasoning is Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning. Paprika is also a great alternative if that’s what you prefer.
Olive oil: I love using olive oil but you can also use vegetable oil, avocado oil, or your favorite oil.
Butter: Butter sure makes everything better! I like to use unsalted butter for my recipes, but you can use the type you prefer.
Honey: Honey gives a slight sweetness to the sauce. You can adjust this to your preferred taste. Adding more honey will make the sauce less spicy.
Frank’s RedHot sauce: We love using Frank’s wings hot sauce, but a milder sauce or your favorite wing sauce will also work well with this recipe.
Salt and Pepper: Add salt and black pepper to taste.
