Air Fryer Roasted Carrots is the perfect side dish for any meal. They are full of so much flavor, you can use any type of carrots (even frozen!) and are ready to enjoy in minutes!

If you have yet to have Air fried roasted carrots now is the time to try them! You will fall in love with this easy side dish that is done in way less time than it takes to roast your carrots in the oven! From start to finish Air fryer roasted carrots are ready to eat in 30 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs Whole Carrots (Washed, Peeled, Cut into 1 inch pieces)
  • 6 Tablespoons Butter, Melted
  • ¼ Cup Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Thyme Leaves, or 1 Teaspoon Dried
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Fresh Cracked Black Pepper

How to Make Air Fryer Roasted Carrots

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, half the thyme leaves, salt & pepper. Add prepared carrots, and toss to coat.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 375℉. Add carrots and sauce to the air fryer basket and roast for 20 minutes, or until tender and lightly caramelized. Shake halfway through roasting to ensure even doneness.
  3. Once done, remove from the air fryer basket and sprinkle with more thyme leaves. Reserve the accumulated juices for serving.

Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • You want to be sure that you shake the carrots half way through the cooking time so that they cook evenly. 
  • Feel free to use any type of carrot that you prefer.Some great options are baby carrots, rainbow carrots, whole carrots, and even frozen carrots will work great! 
  • If you prefer to cook these without butter, you can replace it with 3 Tablespoons of olive oil instead. 
  • If desired, change out the herbs for another of your choosing. We love rosemary, basil, oregano, and dill for some great alternatives.

Storage

These Air Fryer roasted carrots will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container.

To reheat you can warm them up in the microwave or reheat them in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes. 

How long do I cook frozen carrots in the Air Fryer?

To cook frozen carrots in the Air Fryer you will want to cook them at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes. Be sure to shake them halfway through.

Do I have to remove the peel when cooking carrots?

No, you don’t have to remove the peel, but I recommend it because the peels can have a bitter taste at times. If you prefer to not remove the peel, be sure to scrub it really well first.

Notes

You can use any carrots of your choosing, baby carrots, rainbow carrots, regular whole carrots, pre-cut frozen carrots.

If using frozen carrots, reduce cooking time to 10 minutes.

If desired, change out the herb for another of your choosing, rosemary, basil, oregano, dill would all be great choices.

Olive oil can be used in place of the butter, omit the 6 tablespoons butter and replace with 3 tablespoons olive oil.
